Shelton Yacht Club - Mason County Oysterfest
Please share this with your members:
PLEASE JOIN US FOR THIS YEAR’S MASON COUNTY OYSTERFEST The Mason County Oysterfest is held next door to the Port of Shelton Airport. It has become the biggest event in the area with thousands of people attending. In an effort to assist boaters that want to attend by boat, we will have a free shuttle bus that picks up and returns passengers right at Shelton Yacht Club. If you can’t come by boat, you are welcome to drive in and enjoy Oysterfest.
Oysterfest is held annually on the first weekend in October. This year Oysterfest will be Oct 3-5. The event features oysters cooked in every manner possible along with other seafood delights, beer, wine, and music. One of the great entertainment events is the Championship Oyster Shucking Competition. These shuckers can open a dozen oysters in seconds and it’s amazing to watch.
If you decide to attend by boat, Shelton Yacht Club will be your welcoming host. We will be hosting several events to make your visit more fun. Please note the schedule below.
Friday 10/3 6 PM. Bring your favorite dish to share at our Potluck dinner for members and guests. The bar will be open from 4-9 PM.
Saturday 10/4. 8-10 AM SYC will be serving a continental breakfast in the club house. 5-7 PM we will be offfering a BBQ dinner including hamburgers, brats and hot dogs with all the fixings, on the dock. Bring your own favorite beverage.
Sunday 10/5 8-10 AM. SYC will be serving a continental breakfast for all boaters.
WI-FI is now available on the guest dock along with six 30-amp outlets. Dock space is limited so it is first come, first served, spaces will not be held and please note that rafting is to be expected. We also have more limited dock space available at the outside break water located just to the north of the Marina. Unfortunately, there is no power or a way to walk to the guest dock, so be prepared to dingy around to the guest dock. Boaters can also anchor out. Transportation to the Oysterfest from the Shelton Yacht Club will be available via Mason County Transit Shuttle via a phone call. The contact number will be posted on the Yacht Club bulletin board near the front door. Please allow up to 30 minutes for this transportation to arrive. The Shuttle ride is free.
Please contact MoneyTakerii@gmail.com if you are planning on attending just to give us a heads up and help with our preparations.
We hope you can make it this year, we look forward to seeing you.
